Jacob Williams

Jacob Williams is a freelance puppeteer, maker and actor with over twenty years experience in the arts.  Jacob was a core artist at Terrapin Puppet Theatre in Hobart for four years appearing in working including Stormy Nights, My Sister’s An Alien and Dark at the Top of the Stairs for the 10 Days on the Island Festival.   He is also co-founder of puppetry company Lemony S, where Jesus Crisis was presented at The Village, and Apples and Ladders has toured nationally and internationally and received a 2008 Green Room nomination.  Other work includes Black Hole Inc.’s international tour of Caravan (Scotland, Poland, Ireland and England, 2004), Channel 9 television show New McDonald’s Farm, national and international touring with the arena spectacular Walking with Dinosaurs, and devising the Shitt Family Puppet Show

For Polyglot Theatre, Jacob has toured nationally with Muckheap, designed shadow puppetry for Headhunter and premiered Hissy Fit at the Arts Centre, Melbourne. In 2009 he toured with The Big Game at the Singapore International Arts Festival and was puppetry consultant and performer with the Flying Fruit Flies show The Promise. During 2006, Jacob was Assistant Puppetry Director for the Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony, and he holds a post-graduate degree at the Victoria College of the Arts Drama School in Animateuring (2005).
